1954 BMW R68 SOLD!

Beautiful and hard to find BMW R68 matching-numbers motorcycle. Only 1.452 units of this bike were ever made by the BMW, all of them between years 1952 and 1954.

This is the first time we have such a rare exemplar of this beautiful BMW motorcycle. It was restored two years ago by a BMW bikes collector. We have examined it and we are convinced a great work was done on it, meeting our quality standards.

OTHER GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS

This motorcycle is 90% original, being the most significant non-original parts, the following:

1. The exhaust system is not original and the reproduction used is not exactly as the original one. It is presently not chromed, but could be chromed without charges if you want.

2. The front suspension rubber gaiters are not original and the number of folds differs from the original one.

3. The lock of the glove compartment is not original and was replaced with a simple lock. It could be replaced with the type of lock used in the R5 if you want.

4. One of the ignition key lock lids is missing (see pictures). The ignition key does not appear at the pictures, but it is not missing and is original.

5. The installed rear view mirror is not an original accessory.

6. “Denfeld” brand, new rubber seat.

It has the two original Bing 1/26/85-1/26/86 which were originally used as replacement for the Bing 1/26/9 and 1/26/10.

The engine was completely disassembled and revised in every aspect to grant a correct function. Anyway, the bike and its engine were in great condition even before the restoration was done.

Don’t miss the opportunity to bid for this rare collection item.
